The UHA National Coaching Director Stewart Parkinson will be leading this development camp dedicated to helping you improve your skills and game play and reach your full potential. You will receive guidance and feedback to help you become the best player you can be.
This development camp is aimed at intermediate and experienced players who already have a grasp of the game and all the skills. You can swim, curl and flick well already. This camp is designed to help you move to the next level. If you are an intermediate player, you'll improve your individual skills, get a better understanding of player and team position, and improve your game strategy. For experienced players, you'll learn about modern underwater hockey game strategy and identify the gaps that you need to fill to move towards elite level.
This development camp is will be adult players in the majority. In order to ensure the safety of all participants, and in line with UHA's Age Determination policy, at this stage the minimum age of participants is 15 years.
Exemptions might be approved for ages younger than 15 under certain circumstances. Regardless, the U15 player must be an intermediate / experienced player, i.e. played at Nationals or State Titles.
If your U15 child is an intermediate / experienced player and wants to attend, please complete the registration form with their current age and we will contact you to discuss. For example, if enough junior players register, we may be able to run separate junior games at the camp, but it will depend on a number of factors. We would love to include everyone but we must also ensure player safety as a priority.
This Development Camp is being run with support from Underwater Hockey Australia. We invite SA players as well as players from interstate to participate, as long as they are intermediate / experienced players. If you are coming from interstate and need help with local transport or wish to request billet accommodation, you can indicate this on the registration form and we will try to help out.
Each participant will be required to pay $50 to SA Underwater Hockey to cover the costs of running the camp. The cost is kept low because we want to maximise participation and this is possible due to the funding support from Underwater Hockey Australia.
The new pool at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre is perfect for underwater hockey. Flat bottom, 2m deep. Room for 1 full court and 1 narrow court, so we can run a game and a skill session concurrently, or two games.
We believe that sports should be both fun and competitive, and we strive to create an environment that fosters both. You'll find a welcoming community of athletes who share your passion for the game. Participants will be required to adhere to the AUF Code of Conduct.
Will be updated as further detail is finalised.
